Welcome to my stop smoking blog. Here you will learn that it doesn't have to be difficult to stop smoking. Most of my clients have tried everything to stop smoking and failed, but managed to stop smoking with my help.

I have found the information on your site very helpful, I would like to have a session but you are much to far away, so I'll try to find a specialist hypnotherapist locally. I have felt great since becoming a non-smoker with the help of Hypnotherapy. As in most jobs you always get the company joker, well he came up to me recently and stuck a cigarette in my face and said “go on take it, you know you want to, you know that hypnotherapy stuff doesn’t work”

“I took it from him, crumpled it up in my hand right in front of his face, and then threw it on the ground. When I had done this I felt absolutely fantastic.” I am a non – smoker and that is it.

Being a Non-Smoker

I gave up smoking on 21st December 2004, with the help from Robert Jones.

When I left Robert’s clinic after my stop smoking hypnosis session, I can honestly say that I’m not sure how I felt. Although I do remember feeling calm and relaxed.

Driving back to work thoughts kept running through my head: “Will I be able to cope back at the office; everyone is going to be puffing away when I get back. How will I react? Will I be moaning about the smell? Will I feel left out?

Well here’s what happened:

Walked in the door with a bunch of bananas under my arm. Accountant is sitting in the office – arrived early for our meeting. I announce as I hold up my bananas that they are my new addiction (only joking)

The accountant turns to my brother and asks “is she OK?” brother replies “I’m not sure” and then goes on to question me about why I am giggling and so happy. I am then questioned about the possibility that I may have been smoking Pot, as that is apparently what you do when you have. (giggly etc)

I dismiss their comments; they are only wishing they felt the same as me, after all!!

I go downstairs to tell the work force that I am now a non-smoker (they did know I was going to be hypnotized). They question why I am being weird; one person comments that I even look different. Apparently I looked radiant and happy.

The rest of the day just goes by normally, until someone breaks open a bottle of Scotch foe a Christmas drink. For me alcohol and a fag have gone together like strawberries and cream. Anyway, here we go: I really enjoyed that Scotch and I didn’t miss the cigarette for one second!

I’m proud of myself for becoming a non-smoker, everyone else is still puffing away, maybe one day they will see the light and want to join me in a healthier lifestyle. Their smoke didn’t bother me in the slightest that was the really good thing for me. I wasn’t going to turn into one of those moaning ex smokers, thank goodness!

The next morning:
I knew I was about to face the dreaded trigger: get to work, make a coffee, and have a fag.

Got to office, freezing cold – pilot light gone out on central heating boiler. I just can’t face that cup of cold water (as suggested by Robert) I need a hot drink.

Sit at my desk, read my emails, reply to my emails, tell everyone that I still haven’t had a fag – in fact I haven’t even wanted one.

An hour goes by, I’m still freezing, this building takes an age to warm up. I make myself breakfast, still haven’t had a drink of any description.

It’s no good I NEED a coffee; I can’t concentrate on anything until I’ve had coffee.

So I go for it, but I’m still concerned that it could be a trigger. No worries, it was a great cup of coffee and it didn’t make me think about smoking!

So from then on I carried on as normal, drank coffee whenever I needed to, watched everyone around me puffing away, but I did begin to feel as though something was missing. I just couldn’t put my finger on what it was, so ended up scoffing a load of chocolate biscuits.

Recognizing that biscuits were a bad idea, I now have chewing gum on my desk. I think I’ve turned to it once and it is now day nine.

Christmas was another big dread. How would I survive surrounded by smokers? Again, no worries, I’m hardly thinking about it now, in fact every day that passes all I think to myself is “well done, be proud of yourself and keep up the good that has already been done.”

Today is day nine of the rest of my healthier life. The dog and I walked to work this morning; it’s a beautiful day. It’s a good half an hour brisk walk, although we do have to stop now and again for a sniff. (That’s what dogs need to do)

Walking along my chest feels better than it did a week ago. Although I do recognize that my lung capacity is fairly poor the feeling of tightness has gone; things can only get better.

To days into the New Year – what will my resolution be? Not to give up smoking, I’ve already done that; I think I’ll do my best to get into shape. All that money I’m going to save, I think I’ll go and buy myself an exercise bike.

Hi Rob,

In September of 2003 I was at the stage where I really started to become conscious of the health issues and anti social aspects of smoking.

I had smoked for more than 15 years and at that stage was currently smoking 30 a day, I had tried and failed with various methods in the past and was starting to worry that I would be hooked for the rest of my life.

I decided to try Hypnotherapy as I had heard of several success stories and already knew that the various replacement therapy options did not work for me.

I saw an advert for Robert's hypnotherapy services on the internet and decided to give him a ring, to be honest not actually expecting much to come of it.

However that one conversation ended up changing my life, I haven’t picked up a cigarette since, not only that but I haven’t missed it at all.

Our conversation lasted around 20 minutes and during that time something just clicked with me, to such an extent that I immediately threw away my packet of cigarettes and from that day forth resolved to never smoke again.

To be honest it has been far more simple than I had ever anticipated and has given me a new lease of life. Now I obviously do not expect anyone to be able to give up after just one phone call, however it worked for me and I would recommend Roberts services to anyone.

What can I say? Well, I cannot believe how easy it has been! It’s as if you flicked a switch in my head, completely turning off any desire whatsoever to have a cigarette.

After 25 years of being a smoker, I simply stopped even thinking about cigarettes. It was instant. There were no withdrawal symptoms. And I haven’t replaced the habit with anything else like eating sweets – it’s as if I never smoked.

I feel fantastic physically and am bursting with confidence because with your help, I’ve finally achieved something I’d failed at so many times before. I’m now a non smoker and I’ll be one for the rest of my life! Thank you so very much

You don’t need time off to quit smoking – just hypnosis

The idea put forward last week that employees should get time off work to help them stop smoking is utterly ridiculous. It’s all part of this ‘sickie’ culture.

I smoked 25 cigarettes a day since I was a teenager and all it took for me to kick the habit was one session with a hypnotherapist.

I tried wearing nicotine patches but found when I became stressed, in still wanted a cigarette. What put me in the right frame of mind was the fact that when they saw me, my three grandchildren would say “Stop smoking, Grandad” rather than “Hello Grandad”.

Also, when I was out I would always have to sit in smoking areas and at work I would find myself popping out for a cigarette all the time. Then there’s the cost – I was spending £2,500 a year.

So when a leaflet from Robert F Jones, a hypnotherapist in nearby Stevenage, came through the door offering to help with giving up smoking, I thought “Why not?”

After one session I found I had no desire at all to light up. What the therapist had done was unlock the part of me that wanted to stop smoking – something I couldn’t do myself.
Now I’m healthier, my family are happier – and I’m richer.
